Lessons from Leaders in the Napa Valley

This week’s photo takes us back to January 11 and The Business of Wine with Three Napa Valley Icons.  Our current Executive Wine MBA students had the opportunity to experience the power of our network and all that we can learn from their experience.

The first stop of the day was at Pine Ridge, part of the portfolio of properties managed by Board Member Jen Locke of Crimson Wine Group.  Leading the discussion were alumni Abigail Smyth, Leah McNally and Josh Widaman. 

The photo captures a moment when Josh is describing his process for evaluating and planning for capital expenditures.  In his role as winemaker, he forecasts his needs and meets with the finance department first, working in partnership with them, before taking a proposal to senior management.  The story he told made for a living testimonial of the value of our Wine MBA programs.
