Crossing the Finish Line

This week we share a snapshot from our Executive Wine MBA Capstone Presentations on March 22.

The day before graduation, each of the candidates shares a major project that they have worked on during their studies at Sonoma State.  Some of the projects are about hypothetical ideas that could be executed in the future.  Others are very much real world, in progress and integral to the students’ companies.

In front of the classroom is Michelle Sakazaki, the proprietor of Kazumi Wines from the Napa Valley.  Included in her portfolio is a wine called Koshu, a Japanese variety, and the first of its kind to be produced in North America.

Her project explored the feasibility and upside potential of extending their product line to include a California-appellated wine, increasing the availability of her company’s wines in more markets in the United States, Singapore and Japan.

Scholarships for wine business students are abundant at Sonoma State.  Check out the  opportunities and encourage your employees to submit their materials: Wine Business Scholarships.
